OUR PRODUCTS

We develop technologies and products to help address health gaps in developing nations. Our principal suite of products center around our 'intelligent filtration' platform -- the ability to detect and selectively neutralize pathogens and  toxins. This technology range can be applied to almost any form of pollutant ─ biological agents (viruses, bacteria or bacterial spores), or chemical compounds (carcinogens or other disease initiators).

We have commercialized two technology platforms.

Infectious Diseases. The BioFriendTM product range is comprised of self-sanitizing, anti-microbial products. Our anchor product is the BioMask -- a highly breathable, affordable and comfortable medical face mask that filters out and kills germs on contact, including those that cause Influenza A (including Bird Flu), tuberculosis, common colds, etc.

Chronic Diseases. The MicroBlueTM product range is comprised of toxicity-reducing filters for tobacco products that reduce the DNA damage caused by the inhalation of tobacco smoke by over 50%, without otherwise affecting the smoking experience (smokers often reject any solution that interferes with their "experience"). These filters are manufactured into conventional cigarettes by the cigarette manufacturer and are cost-effective to the manufacturer. We also have a range of inexpensive MicroBlue Tips, which can be purchased separately by the smoker and used with any non-Filligent-enabled cigarette for reduced toxicity.

Our Design Process.

  1. We target a pathogen, examining it on a molecular level, penetrating its toxicity and modes of transmission.
  2. We tailor an intelligent molecular compound to attract, trap and neutralize the targeted pathogen.
  3. Filtration applications and substrates are determined, along with accurate methods for assessing efficacy.
  4. Manufacturing processes are refined to bring a low-cost application to the world.
  5. Applications are broadened beyond use in developing nations to new areas, such as mass consumer, industrial and institutional use.
  6. Devices programmed to detect the presence of the selected pathogen or group of pathogens are also a natural extension of our technologies.

Can you think of any health gaps that need addressing? We'd like to know.
